MERLOT is involved in a number of national and international educational projects. The Mathematics-related projects listed below are currently in progress.
Science Education Resource Center (SERC)
The Science Education Resource Center (SERC) pedagogic service allows institutions and digital Copyright 1997- partners to integrate information about effective pedagogy into their websites. The service is built on a core of set of pedagogic modules each of which describes the what, why and how of a particular teaching method. Each pedagogic module is combined with a collection of teaching activities that exemplify that particular teaching method.
SERC is partnering with MERLOT to help link MERLOT resources to information on teaching methods; the resulting materials will become part of the MERLOT Copyright 1997- and the SERC pedagogic collections. MERLOT Mathematics has been invited to participate in this project. and is currently engaged in the creation of an initial set of teaching activities.
NSDL Math Gateway
- The National Science Foundation (NSF) has funded a National Science Digital Library (NSDL) grant to develop a Mathematics gateway portal to the NSDL. A number of mathematics organizations (including MERLOT Mathematics) are collaborating on this project to design and develop a portal that will meet the needs of the K-16 mathematics community. More details will become available as the project gets under way.

Applied Mathematics and Science Education Repository (AMSER)
- The Internet Scout Project has proposed a collaborative NSDL Pathways project designed to help meet the resource and service needs of community and technical colleges and forge a link between those communities and the NSDL. This project has been funded by NSF; more details will become available as the project gets under way. MERLOT is serving as a co-PI on the project.
